What We Are Thankful For….

Before we sit down tomorrow with friends and family to eat the turkey that seemed to take forever to cook we wanted to take a minute to reflect on the things that we, the senior leadership team at Ed Elements, are thankful for because while we often do this in our homes, there is a lot we have to be thankful about our work.

Amy:

Every single day when I show up to work I am grateful that I get to work at Ed Elements.  I am thankful that I work for a company that is making it possible for teachers to do what I could do not do when I was a teacher - meet the needs of every student, every day.  I am thankful for the impact that we have as a result of what we do.   I am grateful for the people who work here because of the time they dedicate to the work and the passion with which they pursue it.  I love that every day they inspire me.  And I am thankful for all the districts who are doing this with us - for the leaders who are bravely moving to systems in which students are at the center and the whole idea of what teaching and learning looks like is often re-conceptualized.  To me, you have to love what you do and I am thankful that at Ed Elements, I truly do.

Angela

I am thankful for my amazing team - the design and implementation consultants -  I work with every day and everyone else who makes Ed Elements what is and helps us to transform districts.  I am also grateful to my clients.  Over the past few years I have watched many of them transform their districts in so many ways.  I am thankful to have the opportunity to support them, but also grateful that I have the opportunity to learn from them as well.  Each district we work with teaches us something new and for that I am thankful.

Anthony:

Over the past five years, we’ve seen the idea of personalized and blended learning transform from a couple pilots to a gigantic movement across education. Personalized learning is rooted in the belief that each student is unique and their potential is most effectively unlocked when we, as educators, respond to maximize their learning potential. So I’m grateful that some district leaders took this plunge so that they can demonstrate what is possible. These district leaders come from: Agora, DC Public, Fulton, Greely, Horry County, Lexington 1, Middletown City, Newark, Racine, Riverside, Syracuse, Uinta, Warren Township, and Yuma. Education Elements is an honored partner to these districts, but we couldn’t do this work without the network of digital content and edtech tool partners we’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with. The future for education looks bright with personalized learning. The change in mindset to implement this work is complex, but well worth it. I can’t be happier with the growing team we’ve put together at Education Elements. Everyone at Education Elements is so dedicated to the mission to make education something we all can be proud of.

Arthur:

I’m grateful to work for a company which is changing the educational landscape and pushing the boundaries of what teaching and learning look like. I am thankful for an opportunity to work with an amazing team of people who are passionate about their work and sincerely care about the results. I appreciate being able to build a team and product around something that benefits all of humanity - education. I’m glad I can use my skills to improve results for people like my mother who was an elementary school teacher for more than 35 years.

Ray:

I am thankful for our freedom and security; many places in the world are not afforded the opportunity of a free public education, yet alone the ability to comfortably send your child to school, on a bus with a stranger, and fully expect them to return home safely.  The fact that we do not live in fear allows us to appreciate the “smaller things” in life that would be considered luxuries anywhere else in the world.  So although I am thankful for all of those “smaller things”, I am most thankful for our freedom and the for the individuals who risk their safety so that the rest of us can enjoy ours.

We also asked our team to contribute some of their ideas in a few words or less - and invite you to do the same.  Please add your ideas here!
