Alec is an engineer that loves learning and figuring out how computers can help people with complex, ambiguous tasks. He has studied English, psychology, and instructional design formally and loves to learn new skills on his own. Some of his hobbies have included Brazilian martial arts, Blues dancing, playing guitar, speed reading, drawing, firebreathing, and speaking foreign languages. Currently he's learning to beat box and attempting to teach his two-year-old son.
Ally is on the Client Services team. She has a background in research and education, and loves thinking about how to organize knowledge and make complicated concepts simple. In her free time, she enjoys geocaching, crafting, and learning aerial silks.
Amy is on the Operations Team. A former middle school teacher, she gets excited about the potential of personalized learning and each student having the opportunity to do their personal best every day. On the weekends she loves spending time with her daughters checking out new parks with big slides.
Andrea Goetchius is on the Design and Implementation Team, working with schools and districts to implement Personalized Learning. Andrea began her career as a Special Education Teacher in Glendale, Arizona. Andrea has also served as a coach working across many contents and grade-levels. As a teacher she experienced personalized learning in her own development, solidifying the belief that all teachers and students need and deserve customized learning. In her free time she enjoys cooking, going on adventures with her dog Jackson and rereading the Harry Potter series.
Angela is on the Client Services Team. She spent her college years participating in the education space. Having been in many classrooms without technology, she is excited to learn about the impact that EdTech can create. In her spare time she loves to play obscure boardgames and eating out with friends.
Anthony is the founder and CEO. He wants to make a lasting change to the education system, where every child is inspired to become a better learner. During his free time, he and his wife walk their two rescued huskies, Bonnie and Clyde. He’s also training with others in EE for their first triathlon, as team Blended Warriors.
Angela is on the Sales & Marketing Team. Angela brings her experience as a teacher and administrator to her work with districts and schools. Angie is part of an education powerhouse couple and loves spending time on the beach with her dogs, kids and husband.
Ashley is on the Design and Implementation Team. As a former elementary school teacher and professional development facilitator, she is passionate about expanding educational opportunities and ensuring that every student reaches his/her full potential. Ashley also loves learning new things! She recently learned how to knit, to 3D print and to write in Italic cursive.
Ben is on the Sales and Marketing Team. A former math teacher and middle school principal, he is interested in connecting people to effective solutions that scale. He balances his work life with family, friends, running, and general tinkering.
Brittany is on the Design & Implementation Team. She was lucky to experience personalized learning as a young student, so when she became a high school French teacher, she ferverently adopted technology to personalize her students' classroom experience. She is committed to shining a light on the joys of personalized education wherever she goes. Outside of work, Brittany can regularly be found solo at Zoomba or with her daughter at Mommy-and-me gymnastics classes.
Carson is on the Engineering Team. His work with City Year (an education focused non-profit) gave him first hand experience of the power and need for Personalized and Blended learning in schools. He loves pickup sports, exploring/hiking in the Bay Area, and college basketball (Go Tar Heels!).
Cary is on the Sales and Marketing Team. With a background in policy research and edtech journalism, he likes to ponder how personalized learning can improve equity across the nation. You can locate him in the office by sourcing the random outbursts of a cappella singing. Cary also identifies as a shamelessly messy cook, a zen trail runner, a sporadic musician and an aspiring polyglot.
Cory is on the Client Services Team. He has worked for several Silicon Valley technology firms, specializing is Customer Support and Services specifically to enhance customer-to-product experiences. He aims to bring this experience into CST to improve district/school/teacher benefit and outcomes using Ed Elements products. Cory enjoys spending time with his family, and being outdoors hiking, running, skiing, and especially cycling.
Dana is on the Design and Implementation Team. Dana is a former educator and district-level administrator in blended learning for DC Public Schools. When not pondering the meaning of personalized learning, Dana is probably rock climbing or training for her next marathon.
Daniel is on the Design and Implementation Team. He is a former middle and high school science teacher passionate about helping students across the country become more engaged through personalized learning. Daniel loves skiing, swimming, and above all, the Kansas Jayhawks.
David is on the Engineering Team. From his previous experience of building an SIS system for schools, it is interesting to take that experience one step further in building a system that allows students to actually use content from multiple providers easily on top of SIS data we get from schools. In his free time, he enjoys killing monsters and demons… in video games.
Filip is on the Partnerships Team. He became excited about education through volunteering at 826 Valencia and is happy to now be able to focus even more time on helping students succeed. Filip loves skiing and is willing to do it even when there is very little snow.
Ilan is on the Operations team. Since graduating from UCSB, he has been working as an Accountant - he really enjoys working with numbers, as well as collaborating with people on different projects. When not playing Soccer or Tennis, he is probably reading books or playing video games. He lives in San Bruno, CA.
James is on the Sales and Marketing Team. He was a middle school teacher for 10 years and went on to complete his doctoral work at USC. James is an avid ocean swimmer, musician and can always be found struggling at the back of the yoga classes he enjoys taking. He lives in La Jolla, CA - tough life!!
Janice is on the Design and Implementation Team. In her role Janice works to champion organization-wide knowledge sharing, as well as to develop and maintain effective systems for monitoring and evaluating the impact of personalized learning. Every day she is awed by the courage of teachers and leaders to do the right thing for their students. Outside of EE she can likes to spend time with her husband, son, and other friends and family.
Jason is on the Engineering team. He enjoys working on systems to make them smarter and more self-sufficient.
He has taught computer classes in the past to incarcerated inmates at the SF County Jail.
Jason enjoys rock-climbing and surfing.
Jenni is on the Operations Team. With a background in non-profit finance, Jenni is passionate about supporting and growing organizations that are working to create systemic change, and Ed Elements is no exception. When not flinging money about, Jenni is generally challenging others to dance-offs. You down?
Jennifer is on the Partnerships team. Her first exposure to Personalized Learning was working for a company teaching social skills to kids on the spectrum. She’s excited to be a part of a purpose-driven company. When she’s not working she’s traveling, drinking wine, or reading books about traveling and drinking wine.
Joseph is on the Product Team. As the UX Design Lead, Joseph brings over a decade of graphic and user experience design under his belt. Growing up in Massachusetts, has a huge passion for New England Sports, learning and what makes people tick. Received his MFA at the Dynamic Media Institute at MassArt which lead him to study how specific learning types obtain knowledge, which is highlighted in his thesis: “The Dynamic Learning Process”. During his free time, he is out on the golf coarse, hiking or going to local pub socializing and playing darts with friends.
Karla is on the Product Team. She started developing products for online learning in 2003, and since then has built and deployed solutions in Brazil, Chile and Silicon Valley. She likes cooking, running, reading, sewing, sun bathing, Python, hiking, dogs and yoga.
Keara is on the Design and Implementation Team, supporting districts to design and launch personalized learning. A former teacher, curriculum designer, and museum curator, Keara loves watching leaders have aha moments as develop a culture of innovation in their districts, schools, and classrooms. Keara spends her free time baking, reading on her rooftop, and color coding everything!
Kelly is on the Design and Implementation Team. Kelly is a former science blended learning teacher from Charlotte, NC. She began to recognize the parallels between her life as a struggling reader in elementary school and her work on education’s front lines. Kelly knew she loved collaboration, camaraderie, and the pursuit of a common goal, but hadn’t drawn the connection between those passions and the career she now counts among them. Outside of work you can find Kelly relaxing on a yoga mat or spending time with family and friends.
Kunjal is on the Engineering team. Kunjal comes from a family of educators who run a charitable organization and has been passionate about education since she was young. She’s excited about using her experience as software engineer to improve education at any level. She loves outdoor activities, adventurous sports, traveling and has lived in 11 different cities! In her spare time, she prefers to do yoga, dance, or spend time with family and friends.
Lindsey is on the Virtual Schools team. She is passionate about bringing personalized learning to online schools. In her free time, Lindsey loves snowboarding, playing poker with friends, and organizing events. Oh, and running a mile (hey, better than zero!).
Luke is on the Engineering team. Having witnessed the potential of technology to impact the lives of students inspires him to help expand the reach of personalized learning. In his spare time Luke enjoys hiking, cycling and reading books on science and philosophy then feeling very smug, self-satisfied and clever.
Marcus is on the Design and Implementation team. As a former middle school teacher, he witnessed the transformative power of personalized learning within his own classroom. In his down time, Marcus navigates the often perilous world of DC recreational sports leagues.
Mark is on the Sales and Marketing Team. After spending time working in Higher Ed he is excited to have an impact on K-12 education. In his spare time, Mark likes finding adventures outdoors.
Marina is on the Engineering Team. She wore the hats of an elementary school teacher, an archaeologist, and an academic researcher before landing on her engineering feet. She is excited about improving accessibility to education via technology. When not coding for work, Marina can be found coding for fun, mentoring aspiring developers, and knapping the occasional flint arrowhead.
Melisa is on the Operations Team supporting us in recruiting, culture and employee relations. Melisa hails from the East Coast but has been in the Bay Area since 2013, utilizing her 6 years of HR experience to support dynamic startups along the way. She believes personalized learning is the key to supporting and cultivating the creativity in every learner. In her free time, Melisa practices yoga, enjoys painting and rides horses. Yee-haw!
Mike is on the Design and Implementation Team. He is inspired by the incredible work teachers across the country are doing to build engaging, connected classrooms and drive their own professional learning. His road to Education Elements started in the classroom after being passed over by the Detroit Pistons in the 2003 NBA draft, and he maintains he would have been a better pick than Darko Milicic.
Natalie is on the Design and Implementation Team. She is a former high school teacher and lifetime lover of learning who wants every student to find their passion in learning. When Natalie is not visiting districts and schools, she can be found doing yoga, reading books, or trying to get to the nearest beach.
Monica is on the Design and Implementation Team. A former teacher from Chicago, her personalized learning journey began by taking risks with her own students in helping them find their own path. She is excited to continue this work beyond the walls of her own classroom, working with districts across the country. In her free time, Monica enjoys trying out new recipes or planning her next big trip.
Nikki is on the Academic Impact Team. She is an Education Pioneers Analyst Fellowship alumna and a former Americorps VISTA with San Francisco Unified School District. Nikki is passionate about using data to show the power of personalized learning. She enjoys rock climbing, podcasts, cooking, and is a really big Pixar fan.
Pamela is on the Operations team. She discovered her love for helping children on their learning journey while working at an after school program for at risk youth during college. When she's not manning the office, she's spending time with her husband and children exploring fun, kid friendly places, making music videos with her daughter, and over indulging in the latest pop culture phenomenons.
Phillip is on the Engineering team. He has been involved in web development and web design since early 2002. Prior to joining Education Elements he worked as a front-end developer for multiple startups and businesses in both the US and Europe. When not diving into the latest front-end technologies, Phillip enjoys traveling with his wife, volunteering for both of his sons local youth sport teams, and is a huge SEC college football fan.
Ray is on the Product Team. Ray was born into a family of educators and left the classroom for the online space as a way to drive to even better student outcomes. Tech geek by week, Ray is a fly-fisher and golfer on the weekends.
Richard is on the Engineering team. He started at Ed Elements when it was just an idea and gets excited that now over 100 schools are using the platform he built alongside a great team. Richard’s gaggle of girls (he just had his 4th daughter!) keeps him busy when he is not in the office.
Roberto is on the Client Services Team. He has been involved in the education space for the past few years, from tutoring individual students to teaching a middle school math class. He enjoys leading an active life in the outdoors and watching sports, particularly the Stanford Cardinal and the Golden State Warriors!
Scott is on the Design & Implementation Team. A former accountant and teacher, Scott enjoyed designing various business courses for a rural high school. He enjoys reading, eating ice cream, watching college basketball, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Will is on the Sales and Marketing Team, and specilizes in helping districts understand their path to personalization . Will has been in the education space for the past 5 years in various capacities. Will originally comes from Georgia, USA, but his time abroad has muddled his drawl. He loves to travel, read and play the guitar. Will's very passionate about music and can be found breaking into song, or dance, around the office.
Yosr is on the Sales and Marketing Team. She comes from a marketing and advertising background and she's committed to transforming education by promoting personalized learning to reach many more students. She's also an avid Star Wars fan, in fact, she was even born in a town called Tatooine in south Tunisia.
