A Systems-Level Approach to Schooling Loss for New York District Leaders

Education Elements Webinar Series Featuring Dr. Luvelle Brown, Superintendent of Ithaca CSD, Dr. Patricia Garcia, Superintendent of Geneva CSD, and Dr. Ray Sanchez, Superintendent of Ossining UFSD

April 28 & May 5, 10-11am ET

What do superintendents need to be thinking about to prepare for the fall? District leaders face systems-level challenges due to the pandemic. This interactive workshop led by Education Elements will introduce an approach to schooling loss by focusing on the whole-school systems that need to be addressed.

The first webinar will focus on getting a clearer view of your situation. We will focus on planning for change, not perfection, and considering your sources of known and anticipated data.

The second webinar will help participants imagine multiple pathways forward. We will introduce how to use data "pivot points" when planning and how to define the work before you define the people responsible for it.

We encourage participants to attend both webinars because the information from the first webinar connects to the second webinar. Both one-hour webinars will introduce new ideas, allow for individual reflection, collaboration in breakout rooms, and planning time. Participants who attend both webinars will leave with the start of a roadmap to address schooling loss and the roles that might drive this work.
