Putnam County School System is excited to offer a full day of professional development for administrators, school leaders, and educators on supporting, designing, and implementing a culture of innovation on Friday, September 27, 2019

This Innovation Day will include a full day of learning with a session in the morning, elementary and middle school tours, and networking.

INNOVATION TOPICS INCLUDE:

  • Personalized learning including the core elements of practice and discussions with teachers and students in a personalized learning environment.
  • Strategies for building the capacity across teams of instructional coaches with practical takeaways of embedding personalized learning into everyday practices.
  • Communicating the right message by hearing from district and school leaders around how they prioritize telling their story about the work.
  • Putnam County’s comprehensive approach to virtual education, CTE, and personalized learning

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Participants will have the opportunity to actively engage in a learning session in the morning followed up by an elementary or a middle school visit in the afternoon. 

Plus, each participant will receive a certificate at the end of the event, and be eligible to earn 5 TASL credits.

 

EVENT INFORMATION:

This event is sponsored to make it available at no cost for district and school leadership teams. If possible, we encourage districts to attend with others in their district.

  • Date: September 27, 2019
  • Location: Spend the morning at Prescott South Middle School (1859 South Jefferson Avenue, Cookeville, TN)
    You will attend one of the school visits in the afternoon:
    • Northeast Elementary School, 575 N Old Kentucky Rd, Cookeville, TN
    • Algood Middle School, 540 Dry Valley Rd, Cookeville, TN
  • Agenda:
    • 8:00 - 8:15 AM: Registration with Coffee and Donuts

    • 8:15 - 8:45 AM: Opening: The Why by Mr. Jerry Boyd

    • 8:45 - 11:30 AM: The PL Academy with District & School Leadership

    • 11:30 - 12:15 PM: Lunch

    • 12:15 - 12:30 PM: Transit to school, participants will be responsible for their own transportation

    • 12:30 - 2:30 PM: Attend a school tour (meet with school team, tour school, debrief)

  • Meals: Lunch and snacks will be provided. If you have dietary restrictions. We encourage you to plan accordingly.
  • Parking: There will be plenty of parking available for participants.
